Evergreen, versatile and reliable

EXPLORE There is probably no one who has not heard of the cacao tree or at least tried the fruits in form of cocoa powder in milk. There are two different basic types: Criollo (native cacao varieties) and Forastero(foreign varieties). The genus of cacao trees includes about 20 species of evergreen bushes and up to 15-meter-high trees. The Fujitsu x86 servers are like the cacao trees that grow in the rainforests of Latin America. Similar to the cacao tree, we also distinguish two basic types of our x86 systems, the industry-standard PRIMERGY servers as well as the mission-critical PRIMEQUEST systems. The broad PRIMERGY server portfolio consists of expandable tower servers, versatile rack-mount servers, density-optimized multi-node servers as well as GPU servers purpose-built for the demands of AI. Moreover, the portfolio includes smaller tower servers that can be used on or under a desk, as well as "larger" quad-socket servers for in-memory database or analytical workloads providing superior levels of performance and scalability. EXPERIENCE The cacao plant supplies us with the raw materials for chocolate – cacao powder –and is therefore one of the beneficial crops that supply food. The tree of the cacao plant has horizontally protruding branches and has a spreading habit. In addition, it is anchored in the ground with a pile root, which gives the tree a secure hold. The cacao tree blooms all year round and also bears fruit all the time. It was cultivated by the Indians for a long time and played a major role in the mythology of their culture. The PRIMERGY x86 servers are quite similar to the cacao plant. The business-proven quality of the systems ensures continuous operation with almost no unplanned downtimes. Supported by more than 25 years of development and production at Fujitsu, these are extremely robust servers you can rely on to take your business to the next level. Just as the cacao plant blooms all year round, the x86 server provides long-term high levels of efficiency and performance, proven in numerous independent benchmark measurements to reduce costs as well as shorten time-to-operation. Decades of development and production know-how have already contributed to numerous innovations such as Intel’s non-volatile memory technology that were first available in PRIMERGY systems. EVOLVE The data jungle contains different trees and shrubs, but the cacao trees are one of a kind. Since early times, cacao has been used as a medicinal plant for rashes, cracked lips, for facilitation of birth, and much more. New products are being created all the time from cacao fruits. The cacao tree belongs to the genus Theobroma. The name Theobroma is derived from the Greek language and means "food of the gods". While all the PRIMERGY servers are designed to handle multiple workloads and innovated with new technologies, they also provide seamless integration in heterogeneous environments. PRIMERGY servers come with a wide variety of robust security features and combine these capabilities with more agility in daily operations, helping to turn IT more quickly into a business advantage. Whatever the size of your business – whether it’s a large enterprise with multiple sites, or a small or medium-sized company with limited space and budget – with PRIMERGY x86 servers, your IT can become the business enabler you have always wanted it to be.

Record-breaking, innovate, fast

EXPLORE Have you ever heard of the jackfruit, the "record fruit", cultivated in all tropical areas of the world? The jackfruit tree thrives on deep, nutritious soils in a humid tropical climate and grows as an evergreen tree with a dense tree canopy and a trunk diameter of up to 3 meters. It has broad roots that give the "tree giant" special stability and at the same time, due to the large area, ensure that the tree can absorb a lot of nutrients and water.Fujitsu's Digital Annealer is like the jackfruit tree of the data jungle, offering a record-technology with performance that is generations ahead. It provides an alternative to quantum computing technology and paves the way for much faster, more efficient solving of today’s business problems. Similar to the roots of the tree, our quantum-inspired computing solution can absorb a lot of water and nutrients in the form of data, analyze it and solve large-scale combinatorial optimization problems which are unsolvable using today’s classical computers. EXPERIENCE The jackfruit grows directly at the trunk of the tree. The actual fruits themselves are up to 100 centimeters long and can weigh up to 50 kilograms. A single adult tree produces up to 700 fruits per year. Like the jackfruit tree, Digital Annealer can help to solve tons of complex large-scale combinatorial problems in just seconds. Problems that were previously impossible to solve with classical computers or needed to be processed by brute force can now be solved in near real-time. EVOLVE Both fruit and tree itself impress with unique properties that seem to be almost unreal at first. The leaves serve as food for farm animals, the wood is processed into furniture, the bark of the tree produces a sticky liquid reminiscent of rubber and is used as glue. The immature fruits are prepared like vegetables in various cooked dishes, the dried fruits come on the market as jackfruit chips, the seeds are roasted, processed into flour and used for baking. Also good to know: If a Jaca is in your apartment, you don't need a fragrance spray. The fruit of St. James emits a sweet fragrance. Just like the tree and its fruits, Fujitsu's Digital Annealer is extremely versatile, e.g. for factory optimization, faster molecular similarity search, low-risk portfolio optimization, warehouse inventory management, or for personalized digital marketing in retail. Furthermore, Digital Annealer can "sweeten" many companies' work. Fujitsu’s Quantum-Inspired solution improves precision and drastically reduces the time required to solve combinatorial optimization problems across many industries.

Superfood for Supercomputers

EXPLORE Mmm ... delicious, an avocado! It tastes wonderfully creamy and nutty. Not only because of the taste, but also because of the many positive effects, the rich nutrients, antioxidants and above all the high proportion of unsaturated fatty acids, its regular consumption is good for our health. That's why the avocado is revered as a superfood by many lifestyle magazines. The avocado tree, by the way, originated in the rainforests of Mexico and Central America. Our supercomputers are a great match for the superfood! Fujitsu’s PRIMEHPC series is equipped with the same new Arm CPU as the supercomputer Fugaku developed together with Japan’s leading research institute, RIKEN. The supercomputer Fugaku has taken the top spot on the Top500 list, a ranking of the world’s fastest supercomputers. The A64FX is the world’s first CPU to implement a Scalable Vector Extension (SVE). EXPERIENCE The wood of the avocado tree is rather soft and is used as lumber or for furniture. The avocado tree is a crop whose fruits are traded worldwide and grown commercially in Central and South America. It is now grown in more than 400 cultural sites worldwide in the tropics as well as in Turkey, South Africa, Chile, Colombia, Peru, Australia, New Zealand and many other countries. The PRIMEHPC supercomputers are also a kind of useful or crop plants and are mainly used to perform calculations with high accuracy in simulations on materials for medicines, disaster prevention and mitigation, or for developments using high-level simulations in the implementation of never-before-seen technology for new cars and other manufactured goods. The PRIMEHPC series consists of two product models, the FX1000 and the FX700. The FX1000 is capable of providing theoretical peak performance of more than 1.3 Exaflops with a maximum number of 384 nodes. The FX700 is the smaller and easy to deploy model in the PRIMEHPC series based on standard technology with a small form factor which can be mounted in conventional 19-inch racks and is air-cooled. EVOLVE The avocado tree is fast-growing and can reach a growth height of up to 20 meters, depending on the species. It is anchored with a pile root in the ground. Avocado plants are very robust and do not place high demands on the soil condition. Because of its origin, it is very hungry for light. The calculation performance of the PRIMEHPC systems also shines in processing of a huge amount of data. The A64FX processor developed by Fujitsu becomes the heart of supercomputers that can perform quick simulations and analyze large data sets. Since reliability and robustness is also a must for large-scale parallel processing systems, the Fujitsu supercomputers feature an extensive data integrity. The A64FX has approximately 128,400 error check circuits, allowing it to offer mainframe-class RAS.

Robust and reliable

EXPLORE Mangoes are the ideal fruits for those who like it sweet, healthy and exotic. The evergreen and fast-growing mango tree can grow to heights of up to 35 meters and has a tree top of up to 30 meters in diameter. The mango tree is quite durable and can bear fruit for more than 300 years. It forms deep pile roots.Mangoes and mainframes not only fit together very well linguistically, but also have other common characteristics. The mainframe is also very durable. In the beginning of the cloud age, the mainframe was often considered to be outdated and superfluous technology. On the contrary! It's hard to believe, but a high percentage of our mobile phone apps interact with a mainframe. With virtually every credit card payment, shipping order and flight ticket reservation, there are one or more interactions with a mainframe. So there can be no question of extinction. Moreover, just as the pile root gives the mango tree a secure hold, a mainframe has coordinated, robust and highly redundant components that ensure 24/7 availability of the data. EXPERIENCE Mango trees provide fruit and oil and are used as medicinal plants. The mango fruits have, among other things, anti-inflammatory, antidiabetic and antiviral properties. They consist of up to over 80% water. Mango trees are found as cultivated plants in large parts of the world, including the USA, Mexico and other countries of Central and South America, the Caribbean, the tropical belt of Africa, large parts of Asia and also Australia.Just as diverse as the cultivation areas of the mango trees are the use cases of the mainframes. Unlike supercomputers which are designed for high computing performance, a mainframe is designed for reliability and high data throughput, such as bulk data processing and bulk transaction systems, mostly for legacy applications. The typical applications of a mainframe are present in banks and insurance companies as well as in public administration. EVOLVE The mango tree offers two natural products for the modern home. The tasty mango fruit, popular in the kitchen and as a snack in between, and mango wood, which is also increasingly used for interiors and solid wood furniture. Massive is a good keyword, because throughput is a specialty of mainframes: you can perform a high number of concurrent transactions and massive I/O operations without loss of speed. When it comes to handling large quantities of data, economically supporting numerous end users and at the same time ensuring permanent availability the BS2000 mainframe technology is an important component in dynamic IT infrastructures.BS2000 is the mainframe computer operating system developed by Fujitsu Technology Solutions. Unlike other mainframe systems, BS2000/OSD provides exactly the same user and programming interface in all operating modes (batch, interactive and online transaction processing), regardless of whether it is running natively or as a guest system in a virtual machine. This uniformity of the user interface and the entire BS2000 software configuration makes administration and automation particularly easy.
